MOSCHATOS TRAVEL, RHODES - GREECE

A drive along the western coast of the island and through the village of Trianta will bring you to Mount Filerimos, where you will discover the ruins of the Temple of Athena and Zeus. The Byzantine church rebuilt by the Knights and with frescoes from the 14th century A.D. is a real jewel. Enjoy a walk in the shade of the high trees and follow the "Way of the Cross" until the big white cross, from which the panoramic view over the plain of Trianta and the international airport is amazing.

Not less interesting is the Valley of Butterflies, a beautiful thickly wooded gorge, spanned with rustic bridges and streams. The valley is truly filled with thousands of butterflies from June to September.

Ancient Kamiros is one of the most outstanding archaeological sites in Greece. You can still see today an extensive number of buildings and monuments dating from the Hellenistic period and walk through the narrow streets of the settlement.
